Where Hope Becomes Transformation

At Bethel Therapy, transformation begins with a vision for the future. Disability, difficult life experiences, missed opportunities or years of trying may cause that vision to feel distant but they do not have to define what comes next.

We work alongside participants, families and support networks to renew hope, recognise strengths and turn meaningful goals into practical action. Through personalised therapeutic support and shared commitment, we help create lasting positive change for individuals and the people around them.

Together, we turn vision into hope, hope into action, and action into transformation.

    The Bethel Way

    Vision

Every person and family has a vision for the future, a life shaped by greater independence, connection, wellbeing and meaning.

    Hope

Disability, difficult experiences, missed opportunities or years of trying can make that future feel distant. We work with people to reconnect with their strengths and renew their belief that meaningful change remains possible.

    Transformation

Hope becomes transformation through purposeful action. We partner with participants, families and support networks to turn goals into practical, everyday progress.

Vision gives us direction. Hope gives us the courage to begin. Transformation is what we work towards together.

      How We Support You

Specialised support designed around the person, their goals and the people around them.

      Specialist Positive Behaviour Support

At Bethel Therapy, we look beyond the behaviour to understand the person. Behaviours of concern often communicate an unmet need, distress or difficulty coping with something within the person’s environment.

We work collaboratively with participants, families, carers and support teams to understand what is happening, why it may be happening and what meaningful change looks like for the person. Our approach is compassionate, evidence-informed, trauma-informed and grounded in dignity, choice and human rights.

      Our Behaviour Support services include:

      • Functional behaviour assessments to understand the purpose and contributing factors of behaviours of concern
      • Interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans tailored to the person’s strengths, needs, preferences and goals
      • Proactive strategies that support communication, emotional regulation, coping and independence
      • Environmental changes that promote safety, predictability, participation and quality of life
      • Practical response strategies for supporting the person safely during periods of distress
      • Parent, carer and staff training to support consistent and confident plan implementation
      • Ongoing behaviour monitoring, data review and evaluation of progress
      • Collaboration with families, support coordinators, allied health professionals and implementing providers
      • Assessment, documentation and review of regulated restrictive practices where required
      • Clear, individualised strategies for the safe reduction and elimination of restrictive practices over time

Our goal is not simply to reduce behaviours of concern. It is to understand the person, strengthen the support around them and create sustainable changes that help them experience greater safety, connection, independence and quality of life.

At Bethel, behaviour support is a pathway towards meaningful and lasting transformation.

      Social Counselling

At Bethel Therapy, social counselling is about helping people better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships and move towards the life they want to live.

We provide a safe, respectful and non-judgemental space where people can explore emotional, relational and social challenges. Support is tailored to each person’s goals, communication needs, culture, preferences and lived experience.

      We can support with:

      • Identity, self-esteem and confidence
      • Understanding and expressing emotions
      • Developing emotional regulation and practical coping skills
      • Social confidence and communication
      • Building and maintaining healthy relationships
      • Navigating family and interpersonal challenges
      • Establishing personal boundaries
      • Problem-solving and decision-making
      • Self-advocacy, choice and supported decision-making
      • Adjusting to disability-related and significant life changes

Our approach focuses on the whole person not simply the challenge that brought them to counselling. We work alongside each person to recognise their strengths, rebuild confidence and turn their goals into practical steps towards greater wellbeing, connection and independence.

At Bethel, counselling creates space for people to be heard, rediscover hope and move towards meaningful transformation.

      Every meaningful step matters.

Progress is rarely a straight line. It is found in the quiet moments of connection, understanding, and shared humanity.

You Don’t Have to Step Into the Future Alone

Whether you are seeking support for yourself, a family member or someone you support, we begin by listening to what matters most.

Together, we can renew hope, clarify meaningful goals and create a practical pathway towards positive and lasting transformation.
